Forse il brano rock per eccellenza, o, almeno, quello che ci hanno detto fosse il brano rock per eccellenza. Ambiguo, a mezzo fra ribellismo insolente, insoddisfazione per il presente e frustrazione sessuale, il tutto sostenuto da uno dei riff più conosciuti da ogni tempo.
(I can't get no) Satisfaction non perde la carica dei giorni belli, anzi; se facciamo astrazione di chi la cantò nei giorni belli, ovviamente, perché sentirla riproposta dalla coppia autoriale più cinica e disimpegnata di sempre insinua dubbi sulla sincerità dell'operazione (o forse no, la canzone rappresenta al meglio la strafottenza Jagger-Richards).
Le versioni che ripropongono Satisfaction sono centinaia. Sul versante rock le migliori sembrano quelle dei Blue Cheer e dei Mountain (ottima); classica la cover di Otis Redding; storiche quelle stravolte dai Devo e, ancor prima, dai Residents (destrutturata sino all'irriconoscibilità). Una nota di merito va agli italiani Tritons (acustici).
Mi son permesso di includere, per farci quattro risate estive, le reinterpretazioni di Britney Spears e soprattutto, di Samanta Fox, la tappetta maggiorata che, negli anni Ottanta, turbava il sonno degli adolescenti e abbelliva, con un certa grazia popputa, gli armadietti di camionisti e reclute.
